     1. What is the difference between high-power distance cultures and low-power distance cultures?
    In a high power distance culture the power is help unevenly between few people where a low-power distance culture has its power more evenly distributed.
   
     2. What is the difference between masculine and feminine culture?
    A masculine culture values aggressiveness, material success, and strength most. A feminine culture values modesty, concern for relationships and the quality of life and tenderness most.
   
   
     3. Give 3 examples of stereotypes that you see on an everyday basis.
   
a)      Black people are loud.
   
b)      People from Minnesota are very kind.
   
c)      Men have to be masculine
 
   
     4. Name 5 reasons for the current cultural emphasis in communication today.
   
a)      Allows better communication between cultures
   
b)      Better communication between genders
   
c)      Better communication between different races
   
d)     Better communication between national cultures
   
e)      Better communication between cultures within larger cultures.
   
   
     5. Give an example of a high-context situation.
    People are talking and one of them makes an assumption because of previous communication.
   
     6. Name ten high ambiguity tolerant cultures (countries).
Singapore, Jamaica, Denmark, Sweden, Hong Kong, Ireland, Great Britain, Malaysia, India, and The Philippines.

Two people talking about a soccer game they just saw.
   
2. What is the difference between a high-context and a low-context culture?
Low context means that the informations is plainly stated, while high context is assumed or stated previously.

Sweden, Hong Kong, Ireland, Denmark, Great Britain.
   
4. Give an example of a low-context situation.
When a conversation is simply stated and nothing is assumed.
   
5. Define Face Saving.
maintaining a positive self image in the minds of others   
   
6. What is the importance of Culture in communication today?
It is needed to create bonds between cultures, and allow people and technology to grow while still being sensitive towards those around us.
   
7. What is the difference between sex and gender?
Sex is what you were born as while gender is the roles that society has created and are deemed acceptable for men and women.
   
8. Give an example of a feminine culture.

A place that values relationships, the quality of life, tenderness, and modesty the most, such as Sweden.


How do you define your Self-Concept and Self-Awareness within your culture? Are you 'Ethnocentric'? What is your emotional response to outside cultures?
I am aware of myself in my own culture, and I understand my role as an individual. To a certain extent I believe that I am ‘ethnocentric’ however I am very open to cultures other than my own and I think I do not struggle to understand the workings of things such as another person's’ beliefs.
